Cadet Program

The Cadet Program was started to allow young people between the ages of 14 to 21 to gain experience in the field of emergency medicine by riding with ambulance medical teams. This way, they can see if they would like to pursue a career in the medical field. The Cadets are under constant supervision of the senior medical crew member. They are taught CPR, basic medical skills, equipment familiarization and gain a vast working knowledge of emergency medicine.

Cadets must be active high school students and must maintain a "C" average. They also must have parental permission to participate in the program. The Cadets work in all areas of the squad's activities. Other activities include giving talks to their schools, attending monthly training classes and assisting in public displays of our equipment.
